Everything You Need To Know About - Camping

CAN I CAMP EROICA BRITANNIA 2018?

Yes. We have lots of camping options in our Home Fields. You can see all our camping options HERE.

 

WHAT are the campsite arrival and departure dates & times?

Please note the camping fields WILL NOT  be open for arrivals and set-up at any point during Thursday 14th June.

The camping fields for tents, motorhomes, caravans and trailer tents open on Friday15th June at 10am and close for set-up at 10pm that evening.

On Saturday and Sunday you can arrive from 10am, and again the campsite is open for setting up your camp till 10pm .

Early arrival is highly recommended. Camping pitches will be allocated in order of arrival.

The time for final departures on Monday 18th June is 12 midday.

 

IS THERE SEPERATE FIELDS FOR MOTOR HOMES/CARAVANS AND TENT CAMPING?

Yes. All tents will be located in the TENT FIELDS and all motor homes/caravans will be located in the MOTOR HOME/CARAVAN FIELDS. 

PLEASE NOTE - We have changed the site lay out for 2018 so camping parking for tent camping is closer to the Tent Fields.

CAN I CAMP NEXT TO MY CAR?

Unfortunately due to fire regulations and health & safety reasons we are not allowed to permit camping tents next to vehicles. However car parking for campers is located very close to the campsite.

 

CAN I set up a tent next to my motor home/caravan?

Unfortunately due to fire regulations and health & safety reasons we are not allowed to permit camping tents next to Motor Homes or Caravans in the Motor Home/Caravan Fields. All tents will be located in the tent fields and all motor homes/caravans will be located in the motor home/caravan fields.

 

CAN I BRING MY AWNING WITH MY MOTOR HOME OR CARAVAN?

Yes! New for 2018 - 1 x Awning is permitted with your caravan or motorhome pitch booking as long as it does not encroach on to others space. Gazebos are not permitted anywhere in our campsites.

 

I have bought my camping pitch do i also need to book a parking space for my car?

If you have booked a Camping Pitch for a Tent then you will also need to book a Camping Parking space for your car and any other vehicles you wish to bring to site. 

If you have booked a Camping Pitch for a Motorhome, Trailer Tent or Caravan then this includes 1 x Parking space next to your Caravan or Trailer tent for a towing vehicle only. If you have any additional vehicles you will need to book additional Camping Parking spaces.

 

Can you have fires IN THE CAMPSITE site?

No absolutely No camp or open fires are allowed on site.

 

Can I arrive in my motorhome or caravan?

Yes. We have an allocated area for motorised camping vehicles subject to availability. Unfortunately due to fire regulations motorhomes & caravans cannot be pitched next to tents.

 

Can I stay in my roof tent? 

Yes. You will need to purchase a motorhome/caravan/trailer tent picth as vehicles are not permitted in the tent camping area. 

 

Can I sleep in my car or van? 

Camping Motor vehicles must be converted with fitted sleeping facilities and either fitted cooking or washing facilities. Unsuitable vehicles, including unconverted vans or cars will not be allowed entry and will be sent to one of the festival car parks. No-one is permitted to sleep in vehicles in the car park - this includes vehicles which do not meet our Camping motor vehicle criteria, or are refused entry to the designated Camping Motor Vehicle field. Due to fire regulations we have to be strict on this. 

The decision that your campervan or caravan meets with our criteria is made by the Campervan gate manager and their decision is final

 

Do you have Glamping/Boutique Camping?

Yes. We have various options to book pre-erected tents and canvas structures within our Boutique Camping field

Can I use a camping stove?

Yes. (Subject to fire regulations) Only personal cooking stoves on the campsite, gas canisters must be no more than 250g in weight or 250ml in volume.

Carbon Monoxide poisoning is still a real issue for campers. Around 50 people die each year from carbon monoxide poisoning. In the past few years we’ve heard of tragic stories of people in tents dying from carbon monoxide poisoning,

NO GAS Stoves whatever size should be used inside tents

NEVER cook inside a tent or enclosed camping spaces. NEVER use gas stoves/fuel burners to heat your tent when cold. All gas powered items need plenty of ventilation to prevent producing carbon monoxide. To stay warm, make sure you layer your clothing, and pick up a warmer sleeping bag. Please note we do not allow Gas BBQ’s

 

Can we bring disposable BBQ's?

You cannot use a disposable BBQ at your tent or in the campsites anywhere, however, new for 2018 - we will be providing a disposable BBQ area away from all the tents where you can BBQ to your hearts content! Please note this area is only for disposable tray BBQ’s. NO GAS BBQ’s are allowed.

 

Can I bring my own sound system into Eroica Britannia?

As a condition of us gaining our licence no private sound-systems or generators will be allowed onto the festival site.

Can I bring my own alcohol for consumption in the campsite?

You are allowed to bring in your own alcohol (for consumption in the campsite) but only up to a reasonable amount per person. E.g. 1 case of beer/lager/cider, or up to 1 bottle of decanted wine, NO SPIRITS ALLOWED. You will be asked to leave excess quantities outside the grounds. You will not be allowed to bring in glass bottles or any kind.

 

Can I bring my own alcohol and picnic for consumption in the festival site?

Alcohol and picnics are not allowed to be taken into the festival site arenas & venues in order to keep the food and drink prices competitive and affordable.

 

Can I charge my mobile phone?

We provide a mobile phone charging point at the Boutque Camping Reception area only.

 

Will there be washing up facilities in the campsite?

Of course!

 

How do I book camping next to my friends?

A camping pitch allows for one tent with up to 4 persons. It's possible to book multiple camping pitches that suit your entire party size. However you need to arrive together to camp together.

 

Can I drive to my camping pitch to unload?

No. Due to fire regulations cars are not permitted in the tent campsites. You will need to park your car, unload, carry and walk to the campsite. We reccomend you to bring a small camping trolly, although we have buddied up with a trolly provider this year who'll be hiring out their pull-along trollies for a nominal fee. Look out for them in the main car park area.

 

Can I drive to my camping pitch to pack up at the end?

No. Due to fire regulations cars are not permitted in the tent campsites. You will need to pack up and carry your gear back to your car. We reccomend you to bring a small camping trolly, although we have buddied up with a trolly provider this year who'll be hiring out their pull-along trollies for a nominal fee. Look out for them in the main car park area.

 

Will toilet roll be provided?

Of course! Although we recommend you bring your own supplies just in case.

 

Can I get a refund for camping if the weather is bad?

All camping bookings are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to a different person.

I have bought a Caravan OR TRAILER TENT Pitch - Do I need to purchase a Parking Pass for my car?

If you have purchased a Camping Pitch - Motor Home, Trailer Tent & Caravan and you are in a caravan or trailer tent with your towing vehicle you do not need to purchase a seperate parking pass for your car as your towing vehicle is included within the camping pitch price and can stay with your caravan or trailer tent.

If you have a motor home and are bringing a seperate car then you must purchase a parking pass for your seperate car as it is only towing vehicles that are included within the pitch price.

 

What facilities are in the camping fields?

Flushing Toilets - Hot Showers - Drinking Water - Washing up facilities

 

Can I buy a power hook up for my campervan/caravan/motor home?

Yes, we provide a limited number of power hook-ups to motor homes, trailer tents & caravans in the camping fields. The fee for power hook-up is £85 each connection for 3 days.

Your power will be provided on a 16A Ceeform connector with a maximum current draw of 6A. You will need to supply your own 30m 16A cable to plug into the supply. The campsites opens at 10am on Friday 15th June to midday on Monday 18th June. Power hook up will be live from 10am on Friday 15th June to 10am on Monday 18th June.

 

Can I unload my car next to my camping pitch and then go and park my car?

Unfortunately due to fire regulations and health & safety reasons we are not allowed to permit vehicles in the camping fields, even to just unload. However car parking for campers is located very close to the campsite. We recomend bringing a trolley or wheelbarrow if you have lots of gear!

 

I am under 18, can I attend the festival on my own?

No under 18’s will be permitted entry to the festival or camping fields without an accompanying adult aged 25 or over.There is a maximum of 4 under 18's per 1 person that is aged 25 & over.

 

Can i fly a kite, erect a flag, use my Drone?

NO KITE Flying or tall FLAGS Allowed anywhere into campsites due to overhead power lines nearby.

Drones are illegal to use over public spaces, therefore we do not allow any drone usage at Eroica Britannia festival in any area of the overall site.
