British Cycling is bringing its new HSBC UK Ready Set Ride programme and resources to the Cycling Nursery each morning to help children and family to have fun together with British Cycling young people specialists. Games, props and imagination filled silliness will help the little ones master the balance bike or develop the techniques to pedal.
Known as the home of the hugely successful Great Britain Cycling Team, British Cycling works to ensure that the inspiration of Olympic, Paralympic and international-level success translates to more people getting on their bikes to contribute to a fitter, healthier, greener Britain.
Alongside lead partner HSBC UK, British Cycling has an ambition to inspire two million more people to get on bikes by 2020. This is ambitious goal is being realised through a host of initiatives and grass roots participation programmes.
HSBC UK Breeze – social rides led by women for women; HSBC UK Ready Set Ride – the recently-launched initiative to help parents teach their kids how to ride; and HSBC UK Let’s Ride – mass participation events which allow thousands of people to ride on the traffic-free streets of some of our biggest cities, are all contributing to building a nation of cyclists.
