Hailing from Bristol, Beth Rowley is known for her rich soulful voice and love of Blues and Gospel. Following the huge success of her top 10 album Little Dreamer, for which she was nominated a Brit Award, she’s now back after working on her second album.
Performing a handful of sell-out shows this summer, Beth says “Its taking time to finish my new album, but that’s ok. I’ve had the opportunity to explore what I want to record and it’s on its way. I’ve been revisiting old blues and gospel and looking at ways to include my musical influences… Captain Beefheart, Emmylou Harris, Ron Sexsmith and Mahalia Jackson”
The period since Little Dreamer has also seen Beth’s film debut with the release of Oscar nominated Brit flick An Education, starring Carey Mulligan and directed by Danish director Lone Scherfig. Beth’s cameo role as the nightclub singer received rave reviews as did her theme song ‘You Got Me Wrapped Around Your Little Finger’ written with collaborator Ben Castle.
Beth regularly appears on stage with some giants of the music world including Burt Bacharach at the Electric Proms, David Arnold (James Bond), and as Angelo Badalamenti’s personal guest (David Lynch’s right hand man) at Ghent film Festival. Beth also performed at Willie Nelson’s 4th July Back Yard Festival in Austin alongside Ray Wylie Hubbard.
Beth has recently been on a year-long tour with Jools Holland which has seen her both performing as part of Jools’ ensemble and as opening act on some of his key dates.
Fans of the BBC series STRIKE will also recognise Beth's performance of the title music 'I Walk Beside You'.
Beth’s new record has an edgier, deeper and louder sound demonstrated recently during her sold out headline tour of the UK, including The Jazz cafe London and the Royal Albert Hall. Set to be a soul tingling performance at Friden Grange this year - this is not to be missed at this year’s Eroica Britannia.
