From Buxton to Brisbane - We're A Hit!

The Buxton Advertiser joined our Fifth Birthday celebrations, hailing the weekend festivities a 'huge success'! Hooray!
Eroica Britannia which ran from Friday until Sunday at Friden Grange, near Buxton, returned for its fifth year welcoming visitors from as far as Australia, New Zealand, The USA and Europe.
Eroica Britannia organisers said:
‘We had an incredible turnout for the classic Ride from EB regulars, thousands of new faces and brilliant turnout from all age ranges from 5 to 87, and we’re delighted to report that female riders we at an all time high.’
The weekend celebrated all things British and retro cycling, although new for this year was an invitation to riders of more modern bicycles.
“Half a decade later Eroica Britannia is one of the biggest vintage gatherings in the UK’s festival calendar and has proven itself as both a successful vintage family friendly festival and also as one of the hardest, well respected - yet stylish cycling challenges around.”
Riders took part in several events over the weekend including a twilight ride, a family-friendly ride and a big 30, 60 and 100 mile challenges.
Festival goers also enjoyed a question and answer session with gold medal Olympic cyclist Victoria Pendleton and were treated to a flypast by a World War Two Spitfire.
