One thing is for sure - British Cycling are leading the way at Eroica Britannia for a weekend of great family times with cycling firmly at the heart of their interactive Festival camp!
Call Over to the Cycle Nursery
British Cycling is bringing its new HSBC UK Ready Set Ride programme and resources to the Cycling Nursery each morning to help children and family to have fun together with British Cycling young people specialists. Games, props and imagination filled silliness will help the little ones master the balance bike or develop the techniques to pedal.
Don’t Miss the HSBC UK Go-Ride Skills Zone
Young people will be able to develop and test their cycling techniques with the help of HSBC UK Go-Ride Coaches at British Cycling’s skills zone. With challenges and obstacles to suit different abilities, young people can come throughout the weekend and test themselves over and over again to be the fastest they can be through the series of obstacles.
The British Cycling Family Ride
British Cycling are also presenting the Family Ride, a wonderful family occasion along the most beautiful parts of The High Peak & Tissington Trails on Saturday 16th June.
The Ride has ‘Sold Out’ for online registration - but fear not! You can call over to the British Cycling Camp at the Festival from midday on Friday 15th June onwards to secure your place! Places are limited - but we'd love you to join us!
Be immersed in nature and the pure tranquility of this incredible traffic-free trail brimming with cow parsley, cornflowers and Summertime nature. Starting directly from The Festival, you'll cycle onto the trail and follow the route of the former Cromford and High Peak Railway, one of the World's first long-distance railway lines, built between 1825 and 1830.
About British Cycling
Known as the home of the hugely successful Great Britain Cycling Team, British Cycling works to ensure that the inspiration of Olympic, Paralympic and international-level success translates to more people getting on their bikes to contribute to a fitter, healthier, greener Britain.
Alongside lead partner HSBC UK, British Cycling has an ambition to inspire two million more people to get on bikes by 2020. This is ambitious goal is being realised through a host of initiatives and grass roots participation programmes.
HSBC UK Breeze – social rides led by women for women; HSBC UK Ready Set Ride – the recently-launched initiative to help parents teach their kids how to ride; and HSBC UK Let’s Ride – mass participation events which allow thousands of people to ride on the traffic-free streets of some of our biggest cities, are all contributing to building a nation of cyclists.
