We catch up with Helen Hartley, owner of The Bakewell Pudding Parlour who we’re proud to announce is our official Bakewell Pudding sponsor for 2017.

The Bakewell Pudding Parlour

We are a family business who began our journey over 80 years ago when my father discovered the Bakewell pudding recipe. In the 1980’s he bought our now premises, then a hotel which he converted into the Bakery, shop and cafe where I worked and helped run for a number of years. Dad sadly passed away in 1991 and I took over this side of the business.
We bake all of our produce on the premises, fresh, every single day including the World famous Bakewell Puddings & Tarts and a huge selection of delicious cakes, & pastries. Plus also bread & rolls for our lunchtime sandwich trade.

Pudding or a Tart?

As well as the traditional Bakewell Pudding we also make the Bakewell tart. I know what you’re thinking now, What is the difference between the Pudding and the Tart? Well, The Bakewell Pudding has a puff pastry base with Jam and a special egg & almond mixture rather like a custard consistency. The Bakewell Tart has a shortcrust pastry base with jam and an almond sponge consistency. Both are equally delicious I may add. You will be enjoying the Pudding version in June! 

Discover H's of Bakewell

 Just over 5 miles from Eroica Britannia's Festival you'll find H's. 

H’s is a Cafe/Bar/ Restaurant which runs alongside the shop and upstairs. We serve hot food all day including our traditional full english breakfasts, tasty lunches and into the evening with dinner-  which you may want to enjoy with a glass of wine, a beer or something a little stronger.  We also have a great coffee menu using the finest fresh ground coffee beans.
Upstairs is a beautiful room with a bar which we also use for private functions, birthday parties, small weddings, christenings, anniversary and parties. We also run regular theme nights such as popular tribute evenings with a special menu created by excellent head chef, the perfect little tucked away dining experience everyone coming to visit Bakewell should try!
