Ride Diaries :: The Good People of Monyash

Published on 1st. September 2019

"Thank you to the volunteers manning the turning points and the good people of Monyash who did us proud for lunch and the never to be forgotten espresso at the Quiet Woman."

We're delighted to share our Ride Diaries from The 500. Tales of comradery, endurance, heroism and friendship; from a much needed push up to Beeley Moor, a gifted wheel replacement at The Quiet Woman to the warmest of welcomes home to Bakewell - we're proud to note - the kindness of strangers is our running theme

"A belated thank you for all your efforts last weekend. For me the organisation was smooth and slick throughout - from registration on Saturday through to the finish on Sunday afternoon - I think I enjoyed the ride more than the other three Britannias I've done or indeed L'Eroica in Gaiole last year. It was relaxed throughout, maybe the roads are becoming more familiar. It was good to get the Middleton inclines out of the way early on (not mile 75 or so last year)!

Thank you to the volunteers manning the turning points and the good people of Monyash who did us proud for lunch and the never to be forgotten espresso at the Quiet Woman."
