Post Ride Portraits

Published on 29th. March 2018

Post Ride - all you want to do is sink a cold beer and spend some quality time in a nice shady spot congratulating yourself on finishing The Ride!

This however does not apply to Fergus Coyle - who completed last year's 'Medium' - 55 mile route - and dashed off to take some amazing portraits!

This is Fergus' story!

"Having completed the 55 mile route myself, I ran to grab the portable mini studio and headed into the beer tent to set up.  The white translucent roof of the tent gave a beautifully soft filtered light from the overhead sun outside.

It was great to find a group of ride worn, sweaty individuals willing to have their picture taken in their vintage jerseys.  Some came from Brooklyn NY, others from Switzerland, then Cornwall and Suffolk.

Having had a couple of post-race pints myself, I packed up the gear ready to continue with my John O' Groats to Lands End bike tour in the morning!"

Fergus Coyle is an award winning editorial, travel and portrait photographer based in Bristol.

THE BEAUTY OF FATIGUE AND THE THRILL OF CONQUEST

We absolutely love these shots of the riders - they perfectly reflect the ethos of both L'Eroica and Eroica Britannia - The Beauty of Fatigue and the Thrill of Conquest!
