The Britannia Times
Great British Traditions!Published on 23rd. April 2018
Today is the feast of St George, the patron saint of England, so we're seizing the opportunity to celebrate our Eroica Britannia traditions and the very best in British - especially in these few short weeks before we welcome the Summer solstice and Eroica Britannia - The Great British Adventure!
The Great British Adventure
We’re putting down roots in The Peak District for a fifth year amongst 100 acres of wild vistas, big skies and romantic woodlands this year means friends, families and kids roam wild and free living a two wheeled quintessentially British 'lord and lady of the Grange' good life where freedom and a life more outdoors is the rule of the weekend.
Our three day family festival and the World famous Classic Ride stirs up feelings of freedom, passion and independence. An embodiment of community spirit, celebrating everything great about our magnificent land.
We stand at the forefront of discovering, supporting and showcasing the finest in new, independent and established British talent over our weekend Vintage extravaganza.
A Spectacular Spectacle
At Eroica Britannia our vintage bike game is STRONG. Where else in the UK could you see a 4500 strong cycling spectacle of the most handsome wheels pre-dating 1987?
Where do they all come from? Eroica Britannia says 'raid your garage and bring an old bike back to life!' A carbon fibre and lycra free zone.
We pay homage and celebrate the craftsmanship, dedication and skill it takes to build, restore and maintain these beautiful wheels.
To see our riders gliding through our glorious countryside is real feast for the eyes. Let’s not stop at the handsomeness of the bike itself, the look is not complete without an authentic jersey and perfectly positioned cotton cap.
A Great British tradition! One of the most instagramable moments outside of The Ride is Best in Show - have you entered our vintage spectacular of international fame? Top judges, top outfits, amazing prizes…It is definitely a case of seen and be seen!
With a marvellous musical line-up, with the very best in live performances across the festival weekend, from Brit nominee Beth Rowley to budding homegrown DJ Alex Flather-Brown. We celebrate talent from far and wide with an emphasis on originality and creative spirit!
The ritual of pitching up on a hazy summers evening is a long time love and tradition of the Great British Summer Time. From wrestling the poles and laying the groundsheet, to the feel of the canvas as the sun beams through your delightful den. It's like a nostalgia like no other. Pitch up and sleep soundly atop the springy green lands of the Peak District. The perfect way to get into the Festival spirit and nothing evokes the spirit of adventure quite like a cosy night with nature!
From our wonderful street food stalls, delivering authentic and incredible flavours, reflecting the fantastic variety of Great British modern feasting culture. From the ultimate nostalgia fix of Chips & Curry sauce from the English India to Delivita’s modern Yorkshire woodfired pizzas with a rich Italian family heritage.
Craftsmen and women, artisans, designers and manufacturers have been curated and united at BOB, showing how proud we are of how brilliant we collectively are.
Coming? See you there!
