OK, we admit it. It’s probably easier for us round Buxton to drink our daily fill of the good stuff. After all, we’re surrounded by pure natural mineral water, filtered through limestone for 5000 years, then naturally pumped up. And we don’t think it’s any coincidence that the folk round here are pumped up too.
So, whatever route you chose on Sunday 18th June – staying hydrated is key to make sure you are pumped up all the way until the finish line. And what’s best to keep refreshed in the lovely Peak District with Buxton Natural Mineral Water you will have on the day. To keep your energy level you need to stay hydrated throughout the race. Drink regularly a little amount of water will help you avoid tiredness*.
Have a look at the few tips below about the good habits to stay hydrated and better prepare the Ride
Drink regularly enough water a few days before The Ride (that’s about 2.5 litres a day if you’re a man, and 1.5 litres if you’re a woman).
4h before The Ride, drink slowly more water. (Around 5 to 7ml of water per kilo of your own weight which corresponds to approximately 2 glasses for a 60kg person)
During The Ride, drink regularly to prevent excessive dehydration
After The Ride, drink about 1.5l of water per 1kg of lost weight. Monitor your weight changes before and after the exercise to estimate your sweat lost.
